The stock shock is built down to a budget. It has soft damping that is (just) OK for a solo road ride, but bottoms out easily in off-road application.

Enter the DFX CRF300 shock upgrade kit! We spent weeks on the dyno and doing riding tests to find the best damping for the bike and all applications this bike can be used for.

Our final results give a characteristic that is plush and has more traction on dirt roads an corrugations, and controls bottoming out over jumps. It's even better on the bitumen.

The DFX CRF300 shock piston is made from space-grade aluminium, the ports are designed to be efficient in a vast range of shock velocity. The 3-stage valving technology generates damping characteristics that suits wider applications than normal single stage or 2 stage damping.

We have comprehensively tested in road use, off-road, single trails, solo rider and two-up. 

• 3-stage valving gives excellent traction and handling over any terrain.
• It vastly upgrades the ride feeling - plush but predictable - and that equals faster and more enjoyable time in the bush.
• This kit replaces the stock shock piston to get a MASSIVE improvement in terms of smoothness and temperature (friction) reduction.
• Inertial mass is lowered by the significantly reduced weight of the piston over standard.
